VITAMINS: STORAGE AND STAVING POWER
Vitamin and mineral supplements should be stored in a cool dark place away from direct sunlight in a well-closed – preferably opaque – container. They do not have to be stored in the refrigerator unless you live in a desert climate. To guard against excessive moisture, place a few kernels of rice at the bottom of your vitamin bottle. If vitamins are kept cool and away from light, and remain well sealed, they should last for two to three years. Once a bottle is opened you can expect a twelve-month shelf life.
