Depressions of various forms and manifestations: in manic-depressive psychosis, various forms of schizophrenia, chronic alcoholism, forms of senile psychosis and mental diseases of later age, mood swings and states on the brink of nervous break-down, social phobia.
Action
The drug improves temper and regulates psychological activity, decreases restraint and enhances the concentration of attention; improves the sleep, do not do suppression of consciousness.

Posology and Administration
Only a medical doctor has the right to do the drug administration (the description is not indicated for a self-acting administration)!
The drug is to be taken orally at once after meal. The starting dose should be 300 mg/daily in 3 intakes. In severe depressive states and in non-efficiency of therapy a daily dose may be increased up to 600 mg. When the needed performance is received a dose may be decreased to 150 mg/daily. In liver diseases a dosage rate should be decreased by 30-50% from an average therapeutic one. In social phobias a dose should be 600 mg/daily in 2 intakes, a starting dose should be 300 mg/daily, from the 4-th day a dose is to be increased up to 600 mg/daily. Administration of 300 mg/daily more than 3 days is not recommended.
Counterindications
Hypersensitivity, acute impairment of consciousness, pregnancy, breastfeeding, childhood under 18 of age (security and efficiency of use in children have not been determined).
Should Be Taken with Precautions, if
It is not recommended to the patients whose acute psychic excitement is the main clinical response of the disease. In schizophrenic psychos an enhancement of schizophrenic symptoms are possible (in this case it is necessary to take other drugs).
In the beginning of Moclobemide therapy it is necessary to control the state of patients with suicidal tendencies.
Patients with thyroid gland diseases and patients with tumor diagnosis, likewise diabetes patients should take this drug with caution. The treatment should be associated with the diet about which it is well to ask your doctor.
Abstain from alcohol ingestion and other matter which influence central nervous system.
Interface with Other Medications
Advise your attending doctor if you recently had other medications, do not take other drugs during Moclobemide therapy without your doctors recommendations as it may result in adverse side effects.
Overdosing
There are no adequate data on overdosing of Moclobemide. In any case there is a series of limitations, the same as for all the antidepressants of alike kind: do not take bigger doses than ordered by the doctor and do not take other psychotropic drugs or alcohol during the treatment. In cases of overdosage usually side effects become nore evident, that is why if you notice intensive manifestations of side effects seek medical assistance immediately.
Side Effects
Side effects: dizziness, headache, sleep disorders, strong emotional excitement, anxiety, irritation, mental fog, disagreeable sensations of numbness, pricking, burning, creeping sensation, nebulosity of vision, dry mouth, nausea, heartburn, sensation of abdominal fullness, diarrhea/constipation, skin reactions (rash, itching, hives, flashes).
Pregnancy and Lactation
Use in pregnancy and in lactation period is possible in the cases when the expected favor for the mother exceeds a potential risk for the fetus or the baby.
Driving
In the treatment period it is recommended to refrain from the potentially hazardous kinds of activity involving alertness and elevated swiftness of psychomotor reactions.
